Cumann na dTuismitheoirí Choláiste Dhún Másc
Tá ról lárnach ag Cumann na dTuismitheoirí i gcúrsaí oideachais ár leanaí, ag cinntiú go gcloistear guth na dtuismitheoirí. Bunaíodh an Cumann in 2017, cúpla seachtain i ndiaidh oscailt na scoile, nuair a bhuail roinnt tuismitheoirí le Príomhoide Elster agus leag an dá pháirtí amach a bhfís don todhchaí.
Bhí sé tábhachtach, agus Cumann á bhunú, go mbeadh an comhpháirtíocht tairbheach do thuismitheoirí, múinteoirí, an scoil agus na daltaí araon. Mothaíodh go gcaithfeadh an cumann bheith gairmiúil más mian linn go dtabharfaí dáiríre sinn i bpobal na scoile. Má tá muinín agus ionracas idir na tuismitheoirí, na múinteoirí agus an scoil, bíonn tairbhe ann do chách. Socraíodh nach mbeadh sé ina eagraíocht tiomsaithe airgid amháin, ach go mbeadh sé rannpháirteach go gníomhach i gcomhar leis an scoil.
Is grúpa tuismitheoirí muid atá ag obair i gcomhpháirtíocht leis na páirtithe ar fad chun forbairt oideachasúil agus deiseanna foghlama ár leanaí a fheabhsú. Déileálann Cumann na dTuismitheoirí le ceisteanna ar bhealach struchtúrtha. Is baill den Chumann iad gach tuismitheoir agus caomhnóir leanaí atá ag freastal ar an scoil.
Cuspóirí Chumann na dTuismitheoirí
-
A bheith ina acmhainn ar fáil do phobal na scoile.
-
A bheith ina acmhainn ar fáil don tuismitheoir aonair.
-
Tuairimí na dtuismitheoirí a léiriú, m.sh. tríd a bheith rannpháirteach i mbeartais na scoile.
-
Gníomhú mar nasc idir na tuismitheoirí agus an scoil.
-
Eolas a chur ar fáil do thuismitheoirí faoina ról (cearta agus dualgais) i ndáil leis an scoil.
-
Tuismitheoirí a chur ar an eolas faoina scoil: polasaithe, curaclam, córas rialachais (Bord Bainistíochta, srl.).
-
Comhrá a spreagadh leis an mBord Bainistíochta agus le comhpháirtithe eile maidir le hionchais tuismitheoirí dá gcuid páistí.
-
A chinntiú go mbeidh ionadaíocht ag tuismitheoirí ag gach leibhéal den phróiseas comhairliúcháin i bpleanáil agus i gcinntí forbartha na scoile.
-
Cabhrú le tuismitheoirí na scileanna riachtanacha a fháil a éilíonn a ról.
Is fiú cuimhneamh go mbaineann na gnéithe oideachasúla, teicniúla agus gairmiúla den oideachas leis na múinteoirí agus leis an scoil, ní leis na tuismitheoirí/chaomhnóirí.
Mar sin, cén fáth nach nglacfaidh tú páirt? Roghnaíonn tusa an leibhéal rannpháirtíochta atá uait. Dá mhéad tuismitheoirí a bheidh páirteach, is ea is éadroime an t-ualach ar gach duine.

Dunamase College Parents’ Association
The Parents’ Association of Dunamase College plays a central role in the education of our children, ensuring that parents’ voices are heard. The Association was founded in 2017, just a few weeks after the school first opened, when a number of parents met with Principal Elster and both parties shared their vision for the future.
When setting up the Parents’ Association, it was important that the partnership would be of mutual benefit to parents, teachers, the school, and the students. It was agreed that the Association must be professional if it was to be taken seriously within the school community. Where there is trust and integrity between parents, teachers, and the school, everyone benefits. From the outset, it was agreed that the Association would not simply be a fundraising group, but an active partner working alongside the school.
We are a group of parents working in partnership with all parties to enhance the educational development and opportunities of our children. The Parents’ Association addresses issues in a structured way. All parents and guardians of children attending the school are automatically members of the Association.
Objectives of our Parents’ Association
-
To be a resource available to the whole school community.
-
To be a resource available to the individual parent.
-
To represent the views of parents, e.g. by contributing to school policies.
-
To act as a link between parents and the school.
-
To inform parents of their role (rights and responsibilities) in relation to the school.
-
To keep parents informed about their school: policies, curriculum, and governance structures (Board of Management, etc.).
-
To encourage dialogue with the Board of Management and other partners regarding parents’ expectations for their children.
-
To ensure that parents are represented at all levels of consultation in school planning and decision-making.
-
To help parents acquire the skills needed to fulfil their role.
It is important to remember that the educational, technical, and professional aspects of education belong to the teachers and the school, not to the parents/guardians.
So why not get involved? You decide the level of involvement that suits you. The more parents who participate, the lighter the load for everyone.
